Mosaico di Sole
Roero Arneis D.O.C.GDISCOVER
This is Piedmont’s great white varietal, made from a very rare vine - Arneis – which is grown to the left of the River Tanaro. Here the sandy soil of the hills of the Roero give it intense, rich aromas, while the limestone and clay provide structure and substance.
MOSAICO DI SOLE is widely appreciated for its elegance, which starts out in its straw yellow colour, continues through a nose of flowers and fresh fruit, and is brought to a consummate conclusion in the mouth, round and appealing, with a delicately bitterish aftertaste that cleans the palate in an invitation to have another taste.
Left briefly to macerate on the skins, a blend of red Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes produces a juice with a lovely light pink colour tending to cherry-red.
On the mouth it is well-balanced and savoury, showing great freshness accompanied by elegant tannins that contribute to good length of flavour.
Diano d’Alba D.O.C.G.DISCOVER
This is one of the very few Italian D.O.C.G. status wines with a growing area limited to just one village , an island entirely surrounded by another dolcetto appellation,Dolcetto d’Alba D.O.C. An intense, engaging nose, very aromatic and ethereal, shows almondy overtones and clearly conjures up the variety of grape it is made from.
Grappa di Barbera
The distillation process used to make this grappa is the same; the differences lie in the fact that the pomace is obtained from Barbera grapes, and that there is no ageing involved.
White and dry, it has a seductive nose that is fin yet shows considerable body, and a soft, very well-balanced flavour that lingers on the mouth.
